Supplies

It might seem that the supply list for the race wouldn’t be that big – some bike stuff, some clothes, a little bit of first aid. When you actually start to list it out, you may be amazed at all the possibilities. The download above is a fairly complete list of what you might consider bringing. For some items we may explain why an item might be useful.

It's up to you to determine how much of this you want to bring. On one hand the greater the variety of supplies you have, the better chance you have of getting through any problems quicker. Storing all these supplies takes space in the vehicles and it means someone has to do what supplies are available and where they are. Susan Notorangelo, former Women's record holder, on the other hand, preferred to go the other direction with minimal supplies in a smaller vehicle.

You will want to find the middle ground that works for you.

Having supplies is great but as mentioned above they don't do any good unless someone knows what is available and where it is. With that in mind you should consider having a supply list for each vehicle. For a larger vehicle such as an RV, you may want your supply list to include which part of the vehicle the items are in. You should also label any storage container, baskets, etc with a general description of what's in that storage container.

You may need or want some supplies in more than one vehicle. Some supplies are listed in multiple places because of their usefulness or relevance there.

Good luck with choosing your set of supplies!
