CONGRATULATIONS TEAM TYPE 1

They have done it!

Team Type 1 have beaten the record held by Byggkjøp / BMC Cycling Team. The record was 5 days, 9 hours and 43 minutes averaging 23.24mph.

Team Type 1, Alex Bowden, Matt Brooks, Bob Schrank, Mark Suprenant, Lonny Knabe, Tom Kingery, Simon Bennett and Jeff Bannick reached their goal.

At the start of the race, the team had it's sights on bettering the record. They had also thought about breaking the four day barrier, but that didn't occur. They did break the record by 39 minutes.

Team Type 1 set the new record of 5 days, 9 hours and 5 minutes. They arrived at 2:38am with an average speed of 23.41mph.

WELL DONE TEAM TYPE 1 - FANTASTIC EFFORT!

Congratulations!! I have been intrigued and astounded how physically fit you need to be, especially to spend hours going up hill!! I have done the 100 K Tour de Cure, and hope to do more riding long distances. You all are an inspiration! Thanks! On to the Tour de France!!!!

In RAAM 2008, a group of 8 racers from Norway showed up and stole the show by setting an overall RAAM speed record. Pride is very high in this division and the competition is intense. Like 4-person teams the 8-person division is intense. The "new" RAAM takes teamwork to very sophisticated levels. Watch them fly!
