“We hope to finish around five o’clock Sunday morning.
Steve, “I did this two years ago and I remember why I don’t like West Virginia rig ht about now. These hills are relentless.

“We ride for my daughter Arianna. She has the disorder NF (Neuro Fibronotosis). So we ride to raise awareness about NF and we raise some money to fund a cure.”

“I’m the rookie this year. The other team-mates all did it two years ago. I was a crew member two years ago. I jumped on board this time; it’s been a great experience. I feel like I’m holding up okay. But I’m a little timid with what’s coming yet today.”

Steve, “It was kinda funny, kinda scary; I had a pit bull come after me last night and try to rip me off the bike. Dan had given me the idea that if that ever happened that I could spray my water bottle in his face. I didn’t think that would work, but it did!”

“We’ve seen so many wonderful things. Monument Valley was great! “
“We passed a couple of solo riders today. I didn’t know what a 300-series number was. I asked the guy ‘What team are you with?’ and he say’s ‘Oh no, I’m riding myself.’ And then I didn’t feel so proud of myself—passing a guy who’s done this all by himself—never stopped since he left California.”

“We’ve been with some other teams too. Team Sami’s is a couple of hours ahead of us and a couple of hours behind us is Drew’s Crew

“We’re looking forward to us all getting together to have a good time in Annapolis. There will be 38 of us having pizza—there may be beer too! I think that’s a real possibility with this team.

A highly contested field of racers battle for supremacy with such a large field (at time of this update 17 teams) the winners will be those that are fast in the saddle and supported by seamless crews who set-up each rider exchange without delay. If you stop moving forward all other teams are gaining 1 mile on you on an average of every 3 minutes.
